about me: sport "active"

Since my childhood I am already going in for sports. In 1987, when I saw my first snowboard and put away my brand new ski, snowboard schools were simply non-existent. Being one of the first snowboarders in Germany I had to learn this sport autodidactically in the age of 16. Via Snakeboarding I came to downhill skateboarding in 1998. Since then I was board sport addict.

Through the years I attended or created numerous, mostly crazy events. The first descent with a snakeboard in the iceless bobtrack of Königssee (Germany) at the “Red Bull Inline Beton” (August 1996 & 1997) brought me to downhill skateboarding: searching for a new challenge I wanted to defeat the bobtrack on a longboard! After intense training and countless crashes I had finally made it: I had reached the finish line after a clean run!
In the past years I have skateboarded all four German bob- and lugetracks (Königssee, Oberhof, Altenberg & Winterberg) as well as the olympic bobtracks of Innsbruck-Igls (Austria), Cesana Torinese (Italy), La Plagne (France) and Sarajevo (Bosnia).

But I am also still an active athlet in snowboarding: From 1998 to 2003 I competed in 24-hour highspeed races (up to 130 km/h). In 2003 I added an endurance world record and in 2009 a 24-hour altitude-difference world record.

One of the craziest events was, besides the “BoardXcess” (24 hour highspeed race), the endurance world recod in the Austrian Ski Welt Wilder Kaiser (March 2003): 168 hours = 7 days and nights nonstop snowboarding!
